A Christmas Prayer

Our Father in Heaven, help me to keep Christmas as you would like to have me.

Grant that I may find some other child with whom to share my Christmas joys.

Help me to see the star of Bethlehem shining in the lights of my Christmas tree.

May I hear the song of the angels in every Christmas bell.

If a stranger knocks at my door and asks for alms or shelter, may I give him these.

And help me to be, on Christmas Day and all the other days, obedient, wise, and loving like your Son, Jesus Christ, Who was our first, best Christmas gift.
