Summer Afternoon

"Little Anne! Little Anne!

Where are you going,

With your sunbonnet on and your basket new?"

"Up where the berries hang round and blue,

That's the place I'm going to!"

"Little Ned! Little Ned!

Where are you going?

Where are you going so fast away?"

"Off to the fields where they're making hay,

That's where I'm going so fast away!"

"Little Joan! Little Joan!

Where are you going

On your two brown feet, where will you go?"

"How can I tell what I don't know?

I let my feet say where I'll go!"
